Our quality control department is staffed with highly qualified and experienced metallurgists and chemists, which has three distinct wings:
The department is equipped with:
JO Steel Holdings PLC operates four units to ensure product quality.
It has the latest version of Spectrometer for instant analysis of 22 elements in steel.
This laboratory is equipped with machineres and equipments to provide chemical analysis facilities.
The mechanical properties, including strength and ductility, are measured by the Universal Testing Machine (UTM).
A metallurgical microscope has been set up in this unit to ensure the correct metallographic properties of products.
All data from testing and inspection are fed back to the production unit and stored by the quality control department for the improvement of quality. The customer liaison wing (marketing and sales division) handles every complaint from any customer. Our quality control team continuously monitors the production process at each stage under the guidance of Metallurgical Engineers.
We perform Tensile Tests to determine properties such as Young's modulus, ultimate strength, and percentage elongation.
We perform Compression Tests to determine important mechanical properties such as yield strength, yield point, Young’s Modulus, and the stress-strain curve.
We perform Transverse Tests to measure transverse tensile strength, yield strength, proof stress, elongation, and reduction of area.
We perform Brinell Tests to test the force of a hard steel ball on the calculated curved area of the indentation formed, to determine hardness.
We perform Bend Tests to determine the ductility or resistance to fracture of our steel bars.
After the Bend test, we immerse the steel in 100°C hot water for 30 minutes and then bend it again to determine its resistance to fracture.
We perform chemical composition analysis for a wide variety of purposes, which helps us to control overall quality.
